Changes to my study programme



I have been studying food engineering at the University of Chile for two years. The carrer lasts for 11 semesters and each semester has 7 subjects, therefore, the academic load is quite. The subjects are related to each other, but even so they are different and you have to study and work extra. 
The subjects are very varied, I have subjects of physics, biology and oral and written communication,
but in my career the most important subjects are those related to chemistry and mathematics. Unfortunately I haven't seen many subjects that relate to my career yet. The first year I had a subject called Introduction to Food Engineering, but I feel that it was not enough. I would like that it's to be more motivational and practical. My faculty has different buildings, but these buildings aren’t very functional. There are places to eat, but unfortunately not enough for everyone, I think it would be a good idea to have a casino and more
microwave.
The places to study are small, there are study rooms, but they are always occupied. The library has few tables and few computers, the environment doesn’t help much to the concentration sometimes, so you can’t always study at the university.
Sometimes I should go to the dental faculty library, since it is more comfortable. In laboratories, the equipment that is used often harms work, is not in good condition, this is very unfortunate, because it harms learning. I think it is very important to solve these problems, so that students learn in a good way.


Finally I would like to talk about the teaching methods in our faculty, because of few are the teachers who studied pedagogy and that in many occasions makes learning difficult and the subject is not understood, so we should ask for help from the assistants. There are classes that lack motivation and are very boring...

I hope that this someday change...

My favourite film

The Films are great hobby for me, I go the cinema when have time, but in the vacations I go to the cinema always. I love go to the Normandie Cinema Art or make afternons of cinema in my house. I like very films, but if i would have that choose one to recommend I choose the film Big fish by  Tim Burton.   This film is a  American fantasy comedy-drama based on the 1998  novel of the same name . What I like of this master piece is that is full of surprises , the histories of protagonist is fantastic, due that there is a mixture of fantasy and reality achieved perfectly . The history of love is lovely, show the past and the present and gives diferent teaching s that thrills. Therefore I recommend this movie to be seen many times, every time you see Big fish you find new and wonderful things .

My best holidays

The summer holidays of this year I made my first travel without my parents.   I went with my boyfriend to the south of Chile and we traveled different and beautiful cities during two weeks. I was happy, so I had never gone south of Chile, because I and my parents always went to the beach “La Boca de Rapel”. Our first destination was Valdivia, I met the famous bridge, sea lions and a nearby beach called “Niebla”. One of the things that I liked the most was that I was able to go to the Kunstmann brewery, when I probed many varieties of beer. After I met the Osorno volcano and its crystal clear lake. In the buses we translated many small towns and during two days we camped in Petrohue, this is a place with magical landscapes. I met there Petrohue waterfall’s , I take many Photographs! The most enjoyable subject...

 During these 3 semesters that I have been in the university I have seen many subjects; theoretical,practical in the laboratory, there are subjects that have both options, for example Biology. I  have also had sports subjects, called "CFG". I don't have a favorite subject, but there are some that I like more than others.  Analytical chemistry is a theoretical subject of the third semester that I like. In this subject we see different topics, for example, chemical equilibrium, analysis of anions and cations, redox volumetry, among others. I like this sybjetc, for different factors, one of them is because I have good marks,  another factor is that it is a theoretical subject, therefore I shouldn't go to the laboratory.  The mathematical calculations and the way of performing the exercises is very mechanical, you have to be ordered to arrive at the correct answer and that is very good for me. I don't  have a good memory, but now I am surprised, since...
